Hungary short-term rental regulation and SDEP status
Hungary operates NTAK/NTDSC accommodation registration and daily data reporting, with PMS and VIZA data-transfer obligations for accommodation providers.
What this means
Hungary has a strong existing accommodation-data infrastructure through NTAK/NTDSC.
Accommodation services may only be provided at sites that have notified the commercial authority, been entered into records, registered in NTAK/NTDSC, use property management systems, report daily data, and transfer data to VIZA.
Implementation status
After registration, NTAK/NTDSC generates an individual registration number for the accommodation provider.
Public NTAK material says statistical data reporting is required every day from the start of the accommodation service until completion, whether or not the site was open or received guests.
NTAK-compatible property management software is part of the operating model.
Technical interface
Hungary already has structured accommodation-data reporting and PMS integration obligations.
NTAK publishes an English PMS interface description, so Hungary has public accommodation-reporting interface documentation even though no EU STR SDEP endpoint has been identified.
No public Hungary-specific Regulation 2024/1028 SDEP OpenAPI documentation, source code, sandbox, or online-platform onboarding process is currently available.
The existing daily accommodation reporting architecture may be a likely base for future SDEP activity reporting or validation.
