Slovakia short-term rental regulation and SDEP status
Slovakia has public 2026 signals that a state register of accommodation providers, eVisitor, is being prepared for short-term rentals from 2027.
What this means
Slovakia has a concrete near-term policy signal: a state register of accommodation providers called eVisitor is being prepared.
The planned register would cover short-term accommodation for less than one year, including flats, houses, and rooms offered through platforms.
Implementation status
Public professional summaries say the government has approved a draft law for the eVisitor register, with expected effect from 1 January 2027 and a transitional period for existing hosts.
Affected providers would include private individuals, sole traders, companies, and smaller or larger accommodation facilities.
Hosts would register each accommodation unit and report changes within a defined period.
Technical interface
No Slovakia-specific SDEP OpenAPI documentation, source code, sandbox, registration-number validation API, or online-platform onboarding process is currently available.
If adopted, eVisitor could become the registration source for future platform validation and SDEP activity reporting.
